Indian Airlines Extend Flight Cancellations to Saudi Arabia Amid Regional Tensions
Multiple Indian airlines, including Air India, Air India Express, IndiGo, and Akasa Air, have extended cancellations on flights to Saudi Arabia through October 24 following aerial attacks on Riyadh's airport by Yemen's Houthi rebels. The Indian Embassy in Riyadh and the Indian Consulate in Jeddah have issued advisories urging nationals to remain indoors, reassess travel plans, and verify flight status before heading to airports. Umrah pilgrims have been specifically advised to reconsider travel arrangements, and Indian nationals requiring urgent return are being directed to consider routing through Bahrain, Kuwait, or Qatar.
