Trump Says US May Join Saudi Strikes Against Houthis in Yemen Following Riyadh Airport Attack
US President Donald Trump said on Saturday that the United States may join Saudi Arabia in strikes against the Houthis in Yemen, following attacks on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh that killed three people and injured others. Trump told reporters a decision would be made quickly. The Houthis have claimed responsibility for multiple missile and drone attacks on Saudi airports in recent days. Yemen has been in conflict since 2014 when the Houthis seized Sanaa, prompting a Saudi-led military coalition to intervene in 2015.
