North Korea Reports AI-Integrated Medium-Range Missile Launch Drill

North Korea conducted a missile launch drill toward the East Sea, with Kim Yo-jong, sister of leader Kim Jong-un and head of the Workers' Party General Affairs Department, announcing via a written statement that a medium-range missile was used. She claimed the missile featured artificial intelligence integration and the ability to change its flight trajectory at low altitude, and that it was not detected by opposing targets during the exercise.

A missile exercise directed toward the body of water lying between the Korean Peninsula and Japan was carried out by Pyongyang, with Kim Yo-jong — sister of leader Kim Jong-un — stating that the projectile incorporated artificial intelligence technology. A written statement attributed to Kim Yo-jong, who holds a senior post within the Workers' Party of Korea, conveyed to the Korean Central News Agency that a pre-dawn training exercise had been carried out involving the launch of a medium-range ballistic missile toward the East Sea, described in the statement as a drill involving a strategic weapon. According to the statement he delivered, the weapon went undetected by what he described as "enemy targets" and possessed the ability to alter its path while travelling at low altitude. The statement also included a claim that artificial intelligence had been incorporated into the weapon's design.
