India's Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal is set to visit the United States from September 29 to October 5. Piyush Goyal, the Union Minister for Commerce and Industry, is scheduled to travel to the United States between 29 September and 5 October, where he will attend the G20 Trade Ministers' Meeting and engage with American entrepreneurs, investors, and representatives from the startup sector. Goyal is scheduled to participate in the G20 Trade Ministers' Meeting, set to take place in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, across 30 September and 1 October. Talks are expected to centre on international commerce objectives, market entry conditions, and reinforcing a governance-based framework for multilateral trade with the WTO as its foundation. Bilateral talks with G20 trade ministers are anticipated on the fringes of the summit, where Goyal is set to explore avenues for farmers, fisherfolk, women entrepreneurs, startups, and small and medium enterprises. The trip is taking place as both nations pursue a bilateral trade deal through active negotiations. Talks are expected to centre on negotiating an equitable interim trade agreement consistent with the joint declaration endorsed by India and the US in February 2026. Scheduled visits to Milwaukee and Chicago will see Goyal hold discussions with chief executives and industry representatives spanning manufacturing, agriculture, retail, consumer goods, and technology. India's expanding profile as a destination for manufacturing activity and foreign investment is expected to feature in his remarks.
