HCLTech Reports 21.2% Net Profit Growth in Q2, Advanced AI Revenue Surges 78%

HCLTech posted a 21.2% year-on-year rise in consolidated net profit to ₹5,132 crore for Q2 FY2027, with revenue up 11.5% to ₹35,620 crore. Advanced AI revenue grew 78% year-on-year to $219 million in constant currency. New bookings reached $3.3 billion, up 27% year-on-year. The company also announced a global partnership with Anthropic to expand enterprise agentic AI deployments through Claude-based solutions.

For the quarter ending in September 2026, HCLTech posted a consolidated net profit of ₹5,132 crore, reflecting a 21.2% increase over the ₹4,235 crore recorded in the corresponding period a year earlier. Operating out of Noida, the firm posted ₹35,620 crore in operational turnover for the July–September period, a figure that came in 11.5% above the ₹31,942 crore recorded across the corresponding stretch twelve months prior. Revenue from the advanced AI segment reached $219 million during the second quarter, reflecting a 78% increase against the prior-year period on a constant-currency basis. At a press conference, HCLTech's chief executive and managing director, C. Vijayakumar, reported that the company had closed the quarter with new bookings totalling $3.3 billion — a 27% rise from the same period a year earlier — bringing combined first-half bookings to their highest level on record. Operating profit as a share of revenue climbed to 18.2%, a gain of 131 basis points against the prior quarter. HCLTech Chairperson Roshni Nadar Malhotra pointed to expanding Advanced AI revenue as evidence that the company's underlying business direction had held up, adding that ongoing investments spanning the full AI stack — combined with partnerships already in place — had put HCL in a position to serve as a technology partner for enterprises and governments across multiple markets. A worldwide agreement between HCLTech and Anthropic will extend the reach of agentic AI tools built for enterprise use. According to a company statement, HCL plans to launch a dedicated business unit alongside a Centre of Excellence focused on Claude-based solutions, with HCLSoftware set to fold Claude into a range of its cybersecurity, automation, and enterprise products. Under the arrangement, AI Force integrations would fall within scope, with human oversight mechanisms and protective guardrails governing any changes carrying substantial consequences.
