Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the San Francisco Giants 8-2 on Friday at Dodger Stadium — with Max Muncy, Kyle Tucker, Mookie Betts, and Will Smith each hitting a home run during an eighth-inning burst of four — in the first game of a six-game homestand. Winning the division title represents a notable achievement, though the squad views its best football as yet to come. His 17th home run of the season — the fifth across a nine-game span — extended the lead to 5-2 for Tucker. While the overall picture remains stable, the upward trend he had been building across those concluding appearances is worth noting. That stretch of time proved to be a notably challenging one. San Francisco tied the contest at one apiece on a solo home run by right fielder Jung Hoo Lee in the second inning, before taking a 2-1 advantage in the third courtesy of a Jonah Cox run-scoring single.
