Delhi Police Detain 150 Protesters Ahead of Proposed CJP Demonstration at Jantar Mantar
Delhi Police detained approximately 150 individuals on Friday who were attempting to reach Jantar Mantar for a proposed CJP demonstration against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Over 600 individuals with criminal records were also detained across all 15 districts of the capital as a preventive measure. Authorities deployed drones for aerial surveillance, intensified monitoring around key locations, and denied permission to the CJP for the proposed gathering, citing security and procedural grounds. The CJP had called for the demonstration over allegations of voter-list manipulation during the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls and changes to Form 6 used for voter registration.
