Delhi High Court Restrains Unauthorised Use of Actor Vijay Deverakonda's Personality Rights, Including AI and Deepfake Content

The Delhi High Court has restrained the unauthorised use of actor Vijay Deverakonda's personality rights, including through AI, deepfakes, and face-morphing technology. Justice Vikas Mahajan directed Meta, Google, and X to remove infringing content within 72 hours and ordered government ministries to instruct internet service providers to block relevant websites. The court found a prima facie case in favour of the actor, whose petition cited the spread of AI-generated obscene content using his likeness. The matter is next scheduled for hearing before the Joint Registrar on December 3 and before the court on February 2, 2027.
