Delhi Court Sets Aside Magistrate Order in Complaint Over Sonia Gandhi's Electoral Roll Inclusion
The Rouse Avenue Court in Delhi set aside a magistrate's order dismissing a complaint that alleged Congress leader Sonia Gandhi's name was included in the electoral roll before she obtained Indian citizenship in 1983. Special Judge Vishal Gogne found the original order to be non-speaking and legally flawed, remanding the matter for fresh hearing before the magistrate on September 29. The court did not direct registration of an FIR but ordered the magistrate to reconsider whether the complaint discloses a cognisable offence.
