Lal Krishna Advani, a long-serving figure within the Bharatiya Janata Party, was admitted to Apollo Hospital on Friday after developing a chest infection. According to a broadcast outlet regarded as reliable, the 98-year-old leader is undergoing medical care, with hospital authorities describing his condition as steady. Pulmonary specialists at the hospital took over Advani's care following his arrival at roughly 7.30 that evening. The politician had already been admitted to hospital on at least one previous occasion during the same calendar year. A hospitalisation at that same facility earlier in the year — prompted by health concerns tied to his age — ended after a brief period of treatment, when he was cleared to leave. A visit by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Advani's New Delhi home on 7 October preceded the current turn of events by only a few days.
