All Four Major Australian Banks Now Forecast RBA Rate Rise to 4.6% in September
All four of Australia's major banks — CBA, ANZ, Westpac, and NAB — are now forecasting the Reserve Bank of Australia will raise the official cash rate by 25 basis points to 4.6% at its September board meeting. The shift follows hawkish remarks by RBA Governor Michele Bullock and a surprise July inflation print. ANZ is additionally forecasting a second hike in November that would take the cash rate to 4.85%. If the September move proceeds, it would be the fourth rate rise of 2026 and the highest cash rate since 2011.
