Rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh appeared before the Maharashtra Cyber Cell on October 16, recording a two-hour statement regarding alleged objectionable remarks made during a March 1, 2025 concert at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium. The artist had previously missed three appearances, citing travel abroad. Authorities had warned of a Look Out Circular if he failed to comply. A court bench earlier described the song in question as highly vulgar and derogatory toward women, while an advocate called for its removal from social media platforms including YouTube. Hirdesh Singh — the rapper and music producer who performs under the name Yo Yo Honey Singh — presented himself to the Maharashtra Cyber Cell on 16 October over comments made at a concert that authorities have described as objectionable. A two-hour statement was given by the singer-rapper at the Cyber Cell office, after which he departed with a substantial security presence in place. A complaint about remarks delivered during a performance prompted the issuance of a summons against him. On three separate dates, Honey Singh was not present for questioning sessions arranged by Maharashtra Cyber Cell, with his representatives indicating he was outside the country at each instance. When he sought to attend on 22 October, that date was turned down by authorities, and a fresh summons for questioning followed. Cyber Cell sources noted that another absence by Honey Singh from proceedings could prompt authorities to pursue a Look Out Circular as a next step. On 5 October, a scheduled court appearance went unattended by Honey Singh, who then put forward a request for more time to comply. At the heart of the matter are statements made from the stage at Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium on 1 March 2025, which the complainant describes as offensive in nature. At a 2 April hearing, the bench characterised the song from which those remarks were drawn as degrading toward women and sexually offensive in nature, amounting to what it described as the objectification of women. In submissions before the court, advocate Rupali Panwar contended that the song's availability across platforms such as YouTube exposes children to potential harm and called for its takedown without delay. Authorities have yet to release additional details, and the inquiry into the matter continues.
