Telangana Congress Holds Protest in Hyderabad Demanding Resignation of Chief Election Commissioner

The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee held a large demonstration in Hyderabad on Monday, demanding the resignation and arrest of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over alleged irregularities in electoral rolls during the Special Intensive Revision. Senior leaders including Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud led the rally, submitted a memorandum to the Chief Electoral Officer, and called upon democratic forces nationwide to unite against what the party described as a threat to citizens' voting rights.

Telangana Congress party workers assembled in Hyderabad on Monday, demanding the dismissal and detention of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over alleged discrepancies in voter rolls during the Election Commission's Special Intensive Revision process. He raised questions about the removal of voter registrations under the Special Intensive Revision process, a development that the two other Election Commissioners had also flagged, and which he described as a setback for democratic processes in the country. He noted that Election Commissioners had themselves been compelled to validate Rahul Gandhi's claims regarding alleged irregularities in the voting process. He urged all political groupings that uphold democratic values and constitutional order to set aside their differences and join forces with the Congress.
