Tampa Bay Rays Set to Face Cleveland Guardians in the ALCS

The Tampa Bay Rays and Cleveland Guardians are set to meet in the ALCS after contrasting ALDS performances. Tampa Bay swept the Yankees while Cleveland survived a five-game series against Chicago. A panel of 15 experts largely favors the Rays, with third baseman Junior Caminero the top pick for ALCS MVP. Key contributors Drew Rasmussen and Caminero are expected to attract wider attention during the series.

A three-game run by Tampa Bay against New York ended the Yankees' postseason at the ALDS stage, with the Rays not dropping a single contest across the series. Cleveland's series with Chicago stretched the full five games before the Guardians advanced. Down two games at home, Cleveland split the pair of road contests to draw level before securing the series in the fifth and deciding game. Of the 14 forecasters who favoured the Rays, opinions on the series length were split, with six of that group settling on a game-six finish as their predicted endpoint. Two analysts offered split forecasts for the series, with one calling for a seventh and deciding game while the other projected a four-game run without a loss for one side.
