Two fresh procurement agreements, together valued at ₹186.51 crore, have been added to RailTel Corporation of India's order book, with the larger of the pair — a ₹167.52 crore deal covering examination-related services — coming from the Railway Recruitment Board in Secunderabad. The second contract, placed by a health insurance provider, encompasses IT infrastructure alongside cybersecurity services. Spanning digital governance, network infrastructure, and IT services, the pair of contracts broadens the portfolio of work RailTel has secured through its recent tendering activity.
The contract placed by the Railway Recruitment Board in Secunderabad carries a pre-tax worth of ₹167.52 crore. Terms of the agreement assign RailTel responsibility for handling both the preparatory and follow-up stages of recruitment examinations tied to Centralised Employment Notifications that the Railway Recruitment Board puts out. Under the terms of the agreement, October 15, 2031 marks the date on which its provisions are set to expire.
A contract worth ₹18.99 crore, taxes included, has been awarded to RailTel by Health Insurance TPA of India Limited. Provisions within the agreement address IT infrastructure alongside cybersecurity operations. Spanning three years in total, the deal is set to remain in force through to 16 October 2029.
A string of contract wins has come RailTel's way over the preceding months. A ₹49 crore deal was extended to the company by Odisha's Higher Education Department, with the agreement formalised on 13 October. As part of the arrangement, 83 digital application modules for a governance platform will be built out by RailTel.
RailTel recorded a ₹165 crore contract with Western Coalfields during August. Under a 60-month leased arrangement, the work centres on building out an MPLS VPN infrastructure across the contracted term, with the arrangement remaining in place through to 20 September 2031.
A contract valued at ₹166.8 crore came through to RailTel from the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), with the deal finalised during August. Under the revised arrangement, the company's IaaS contract was extended by twelve months, with the new expiry date falling on 9 February 2027.
Work under these contracts spans four distinct areas — recruitment examination services, digital governance, network connectivity, and IT infrastructure — broadening the range of government and enterprise engagements within RailTel's project portfolio.
Trading on Friday, 16 October saw RailTel's BSE-listed stock edge upward by 0.57 per cent, with the closing price settling at ₹255.05. Across the six months prior, the share shed roughly 23.90 per cent of its value. At the time of reporting, the firm carried a total market value of ₹8,170 crore.
Classified as a Navratna enterprise, RailTel operates within the organisational structure of the Ministry of Railways as a government-owned entity. Its portfolio spans telecommunications infrastructure alongside digital services and technology-oriented project delivery. The two freshly awarded deals push the combined contract value to ₹186.51 crore, with the Railway Recruitment Board agreement — the larger of the pair — running until October 2031.
