Over 3,000 Mail-In Ballots Rejected in Alberta's Upcoming Provincial Referendum
Elections Alberta has confirmed that more than 3,000 mail-in ballots for the October 19 provincial referendum have been rejected due to errors, including missing declaration forms and identification issues. Voters can still correct their submissions via email. The referendum poses 10 questions to voters, including on provincial authority over immigration, judicial appointments, and a potential legally binding separation vote. Over 652,000 ballot packages have been distributed, with one-third already verified. Voter turnout is projected at up to 85 percent.
