Actor Niti Taylor, who reached the semi-final stage of Amazon Prime Video's Alliance, has spoken publicly about acting projects she stepped away from, including an account of an encounter she described as involving the casting couch.
Taylor's on-screen career began with the 2012 Telugu-language production Mem Vayasuku Vacham, in which she appeared alongside Tanish. Her Telugu film appearances were limited to a small number of titles before her career path shifted toward television and web series work.
In a conversation about her career, Taylor described an encounter with a director as the reason she stepped away from film work entirely. Speaking to a television programme, she described how an exchange with a director left her at a loss for words and unable to process her own response for some time.
Choosing not to name the individual, she described how the director of her first film reached out to her about a follow-up project once that production had wrapped. She said the director told her the role was contingent on a sexual relationship with him, a proposition that left her visibly taken aback. On that occasion, he made clear that sexual intercourse would be the price of his assistance — a condition Taylor said she was unable to comprehend in the moment it was put to her.
She said the call ended on her end, and the filmmaker was removed from her contacts. Afterwards, a phone call to her mother gave her the opportunity to relay what he had proposed.
Following the box-office performance of her first Telugu film, Taylor told reporters that she had observed the director in the company of various women on multiple occasions, and that she had lived with the uncertainty of not knowing when he might behave the same way toward her. She went on to say that the experience led her to resolve against taking on any film roles from that point forward. Taylor told reporters the experience had left her so overwhelmed that she had kept it to herself until that disclosure.
Two Telugu-language productions — Pelli Pustakam, released in 2013, and Love Dot Com, which followed a year later — rounded out her work in that regional film industry. Following those on-set misconduct allegations, acting roles stopped coming her way.
Taylor and Pariskshit Bawa exchanged vows on 13 August 2020, roughly twelve months after the two had become engaged. Attendance at the gathering was limited to immediate family on both sides.
Her television credits span appearances in Yeh Hai Aashiqui, Kaisi Yeh Yaariaan, Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya, and Ishqbaaz, with the Sony TV production Bade Achhe Lagte Hain 2 standing as her most recent small-screen outing. Prior to joining the cast of Alliance, she reached the semi-final round of Colors TV's Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 10, competing alongside dance partner Akash Thapa throughout her run on the show.
Her on-screen presence extended into music videos, with appearances in the Punjabi track Tareefan — featuring vocals from Jubin Nautiyal and Rochak — as well as Roka, a song performed by Shivang Mathur.
