NCAA, SEC, LSU Head to Court in Player Eligibility Case
A Louisiana judge issued a temporary restraining order against the SEC, preventing enforcement of a new policy that bans players with professional experience from collegiate competition. The case involves 33 plaintiffs, including former NFL players, and could affect college football rosters for the entire season. The SEC has stated it will comply with the court order but reserves the right to retroactively punish schools if the ruling is overturned. Approximately 60 similar lawsuits are active across the United States.
