IOC Dissolves 12 Permanent Committees Including Human Rights and Gender Equality Bodies
The International Olympic Committee has dissolved 12 of its permanent committees, including its Human Rights Advisory Committee and Gender Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Commission, as part of a streamlining and cost-cutting effort. The organization will replace these bodies with ad hoc expert panels formed as needed, leaving 19 committees in place. IOC President Kirsty Coventry has previously favored smaller working groups for key policy issues.
