India's Wholesale Inflation Rises to 11.39% in September, Driven by Food, Manufacturing, and Energy Costs
India's wholesale inflation rose to 11.39% in September from 9.92% in August, with increases recorded across food, manufactured products, and fuel and power categories. Manufactured products inflation hit a series high of 9.76%. The rise follows retail inflation reaching a 23-month high of 5.54%, and the Reserve Bank of India raising its benchmark repo rate to 5.50%. Global supply disruptions and elevated crude oil and fertiliser costs have contributed to the inflationary environment.
