INDIA Bloc Plans September 30 Meeting to Unite Opposition Over Voter Roll Controversy
The Congress party and the INDIA bloc are planning a September 30 meeting to coordinate nationwide opposition against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter rolls. The opposition alleges that over 13 crore names have been removed from electoral lists and that the CEC is acting in a partisan manner. A fresh impeachment motion against the CEC is under consideration, following the rejection of an earlier attempt in April 2025.
