Georgia Republican candidates rallied in Forsyth with Gov. Brian Kemp, focusing heavily on attacks against Democratic gubernatorial candidate Keisha Lance Bottoms and her record as Atlanta mayor. Gubernatorial nominee Rick Jackson, endorsed by President Trump but declining to mention him at the event, outlined pledges on public safety and shared his personal background. Bottoms, meanwhile, linked Jackson to Trump and raised questions about his business dealings.

As party candidates assembled alongside the governor, Bottoms linked the increases to tensions with Iran and the policies of President Donald Trump. Lauren "Bubba" McDonald, the state Public Service Commission's vice chairman, referenced the president by name as he called on fellow Republicans to vote and show that Georgia remained a reliably Republican state. State Rep. Tim Fleming, a Republican from Covington and his party's candidate for Georgia secretary of state, held the position of Governor Kemp's chief of staff throughout that period, which he characterized as one marked by demonstrations and civil unrest across Atlanta — a time when Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms drew scrutiny over her response to those events; meanwhile, State Sen. Greg Dolezal, a Republican from Cumming and the party's nominee for lieutenant governor, referenced episodes in which law enforcement vehicles were set ablaze, retail establishments were looted, and a Wendy's restaurant on Atlanta's south side was destroyed by fire following the police killing of Rayshard Brooks at that site, noting that Governor Kemp called on the National Guard on two separate occasions in response to the unrest. Insurance Commissioner John King, a former police chief running for re-election, stated that a Bottoms win in November could result in patrol car arson and a collapse of civil order. He contended that the Bottoms campaign was deliberately suppressing that topic from public discussion. Jackson pointed to the Wendy's location as an example of what she called inadequate governance, and stated that a successful gubernatorial campaign would lead her to back law enforcement. "I will make public safety a daily responsibility," Bottoms has pledged to voters, while pointing out that Jackson has aligned with Trump at a time when polling data indicates the president's approval ratings have fallen. Bottoms has repeatedly raised questions about Jackson's business dealings, citing contracts awarded to his firm by the state of Georgia and his financial interest in a Texas data center, while also asserting that Jackson's stated political aspirations mirror those of Donald Trump.
