Properties valued at roughly Rs 140 crore — held by Earth Infrastructure, its associated subsidiaries, and the company's promoters — were seized by the Enforcement Directorate as part of a probe into an alleged Rs 2,004 crore financial fraud affecting some 19,425 homebuyers and investors.
Under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002, Delhi Zonal Office-II of the Enforcement Directorate moved to provisionally freeze immovable properties belonging to the firm, its four promoters — Avdhesh Kumar Goel, Rajneesh Mittal, Atul Gupta, and Vikas Gupta — together with assets held by their respective family members and associated entities.
Enforcement figures released by the ED put the cumulative worth of property frozen and confiscated across the proceedings at around Rs 352 crore, a tally that incorporates the most recent attachment action. Prosecutors linked the asset freeze to a continuing probe into Earth Infrastructure and related entities over suspected money laundering tied to an alleged scheme of fraud and the alleged diversion of public funds.
Five first-information reports lodged with Delhi Police's Economic Offences Wing against Earth Infrastructure, its directors, and associated entities under multiple IPC provisions formed the basis upon which the probe was launched. A criminal complaint lodged by the Serious Fraud Investigation Office under Section 447 of the Companies Act names the group's promoters and directors as accused parties.
Enforcement data filed by the ED indicates that funds totalling roughly Rs 2,004 crore were drawn from a pool of over 19,425 homebuyers and investors, with the group offering guarantees of on-schedule handover of both residential and commercial units alongside assured financial returns. Money routed through a network of affiliated entities and connected organisations was among the findings that emerged from the inquiry.
Funds collected from buyers and investors went largely undeployed toward completion, with numerous properties left unfinished and unit transfers never carried out — a pattern the ED described as resulting in financial harm to those who had paid into the projects. Funds traced to criminal activity tied to the scheduled offences were channelled into both movable and fixed assets, with ownership spread across a range of entities and individuals connected to the promoters and directors of the group.
In April 2026, the Enforcement Directorate conducted search operations across several properties tied to the Earth Group within the Delhi-NCR region. Among the items recovered during the operations were banknotes totalling around Rs 6.30 crore, ornaments and jewellery carrying an assessed worth of roughly Rs 8.78 crore, and title deeds tied to upwards of 100 separate immovable assets whose combined valuation was put at over Rs 100 crore.
According to the ED, Avdhesh Kumar Goel, Rajneesh Mittal, Atul Gupta, and Vikas Gupta were each identified as having taken an active part in orchestrating the movement of funds through a layered series of financial transactions. Detention under Section 19 of the PMLA took place on 1 June, carried out in accordance with the applicable legal framework.
On 29 July, prosecutors lodged a formal charge document against the accused, calling for both custodial sentences and the seizure of assets valued at over Rs 212 crore.
