Arriving at cinemas on Friday, 2 October, Drishyam: The Conclusion brings the Hindi-language Drishyam trilogy to its end with a third and closing instalment. Trade data compiled by Sacnilk, which monitors box-office activity, put the film's opening-day domestic haul at Rs 66.75 crore net across 15,759 shows, with seats filled at a rate of 60.1 per cent.
Domestic collections reached Rs 80.10 crore, and overseas receipts are put at roughly Rs 15 crore, bringing the combined global tally to Rs 95.10 crore. At Rs 66.75 crore net, the opening-day collection outpaced what the franchise had recorded on any comparable debut before it.
Trade data circulating at the time placed the domestic opening of the original Drishyam at Rs 5.85 crore when it arrived in cinemas in 2015, a figure that the 2022 follow-up, Drishyam 2, more than doubled on its own first day, with net box-office collections of Rs 15.38 crore recorded at the start of its theatrical run. With Drishyam 3's opening-day domestic net collection now reported at figures surpassing roughly Rs 43 crore, the film has moved ahead of Singham Again on that measure — a tally that had stood as Ajay Devgn's personal best for a debut day at the box office.
Pre-release ticket purchases for Drishyam 3 climbed at a steady pace across Indian venues in the weeks leading up to opening day. Ticket-sale figures compiled by Sacnilk over the seven-day pre-release window put total gross revenue at roughly Rs 65 crore, a tally that incorporates seats placed under temporary holds. When reserved seats are removed from the count, the total came to approximately Rs 53.81 crore.
Across the pre-release booking window, roughly 1.9 million tickets found buyers through a network of more than 52,000 individual screenings. On that opening day alone, roughly 8.82 lakh tickets were purchased across 16,125 screenings, pushing advance collections — blocked seats included — to approximately Rs 31.65 crore. Demand recorded ahead of schedule pointed to Maharashtra and Delhi — with the National Capital Region drawing a particularly pronounced share — as the two territories generating the heaviest early uptake.
Rooted in a Malayalam film series, the Hindi Drishyam franchise carries that source material into a new linguistic and cultural context. Mohanlal took on the role of Georgekutty in the Malayalam-language version of Drishyam. Where the Malayalam franchise established a particular narrative path, the Hindi third entry charts its own course rather than retracing those same steps. Pathak, who directs the film, has put on record his intention for the Hindi-language cut to reach its own distinct ending.
Vijay Salgaonkar, the cable operator brought to life by Ajay Devgn, anchors the narrative as its driving presence. Reprising her character Meera Deshmukh, Tabu features alongside Shriya Saran, Ishita Dutta, and Mrunal Jadhav, each of whom steps back into their respective parts. Among the performers rounding out the ensemble are Rajat Kapoor, Prakash Raj, and Jaideep Ahlawat.
Absent from the cast of the third instalment is Akshaye Khanna, whose presence had shaped the narrative arc of Drishyam 2. Pre-release coverage had pointed to a breakdown in creative alignment as the reason for his absence.
Abhishek Pathak took the director's chair for Drishyam: The Conclusion. Screenplay duties on the production were divided among three contributors — Aamil Keeyan Khan, Abhishek Pathak, and Parveez Shaikh — with Khan taking on dialogue writing as an additional responsibility. Four producers — Alok Jain, Ajit Andhare, Kumar Mangat Pathak, and Abhishek Pathak — brought the film to screen, with Star Studio18 handling its presentation.
Music for the production draws on the work of three composers — Ravi Basrur, Rochak Kohli, and Karma — while the lyrical side brought together Manoj Muntashir, Aamil Keeyan Khan, and Karma as contributors. Cinematography on the production falls under Sudhir Kumar Chaudhary's remit, while the editing role belongs to Sandeep Francis. Clocking in at roughly two and a half hours, the film was granted a UA 16+ certificate before it opened in cinemas.
