Delhi Police Impose Prohibitory Orders Ahead of CJP's Planned Tiranga March at Connaught Place

Delhi Police have served verbal prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the BNSS to CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke ahead of a planned Tiranga march at Central Park, Connaught Place. Officers from Delhi Police visited the home of Abhijeet Dipke — who leads the group calling itself the Cockroach Janta Party — and verbally informed him that prohibitory provisions under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita were active across the New Delhi district, a notification that followed his public announcement of a planned Tiranga march in the capital. Abhijeet Dipke put forward plans for a "Lehra Do Tiranga" march through Connaught Place's Central Park on Wednesday, with the detention of two CJP members — Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka — still pending resolution by the relevant authorities at the time of the announcement. Two separate grievances shaped the rally's agenda: questions surrounding the conduct of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, and a government ruling that removed Jantar Mantar from the list of sites where public gatherings are permitted.
