CJP Activist Abhijeet Dipke Detained by Delhi Police Ahead of Tiranga March, to Be Produced Before SEM Court

CJP activist Abhijeet Dipke was detained by Delhi Police under BNSS Sections 126 and 170 ahead of the Lehra Do Tiranga yatra at Connaught Place's Central Park. Two notices were issued citing Section 163 restrictions and a prior peace bond signed after his October detention. He is set to be produced before the Special Executive Magistrate court.

Abhijeet Dipke, affiliated with Citizens for Justice and Peace (CJP) and detained at the residence of NCP-SCP spokesperson Anish Gawande ahead of Friday's "Tiranga" march, faces a scheduled appearance before the Special Executive Magistrate (SEM) court, with those connected to the matter confirming through a statement that his detention has been formalised and that he will be produced before that bench. Ratna Singh, who oversees legal affairs at CJP, posted on X in the early hours of Saturday that Dipke's location had not been verified and that his legal representatives had not yet been able to reach him — the post further noted he was due before the court at around noon, this following his detention by Delhi Police on Friday while he was on his way to take part in the 'Lehra Do Tiranga' yatra, a procession that CJP had organised at Central Park in Connaught Place. A day after CJP leadership was taken into custody — on 11 October — the organisation's attorney informed journalists that Abhijeet Dipke, Saurav Das, and Ashutosh Ranka had each been discharged by the Executive Magistrate court on the basis of a peace-bond undertaking binding them for one year.
