Centre Notifies Appointment of Seven New Judges to Delhi High Court
The Central Government notified the appointment of seven new judges to the Delhi High Court on Saturday, raising the total bench strength to 50 against the sanctioned 60 posts. The appointments follow a September 10 recommendation by the Supreme Court collegium. Two judges — Nivedita Sharma and Nisha Sahay Saxena — were appointed as permanent judges, while five others received additional judge appointments. The move comes ahead of multiple retirements expected at the court in the coming months.
