Arizona Cardinals Sign Michael Wilson to Three-Year, $75 Million Contract Extension

Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Michael Wilson has agreed to a three-year contract extension worth $75 million with a maximum value of $78 million and $47 million guaranteed. The 26-year-old had a breakout third season with 1,006 receiving yards and 7 touchdowns in 17 games, becoming the third member of the 2023 NFL Draft class to achieve a 1,000-yard season. The contract makes Wilson one of the top 25 highest-paid receivers in the league.

The Arizona Cardinals and wide receiver Michael Wilson agreed on a new three-year contract extension. The agreement carries a base value of $75 million, rising to a ceiling of $78 million, with $47 million in guaranteed compensation. He is set to earn approximately $3.9 million during the concluding year of his rookie deal. Wilson's deal, worth an average of $25 million per year, places him among the top 25 wide receivers in the league. In his third NFL campaign, the 26-year-old Wilson posted 78 catches for 1,006 yards and seven touchdowns across 17 appearances — 13 as a starter — to lead all Cardinals receivers. Over Arizona's concluding eight contests, he totalled 775 receiving yards, marking a notable upturn in output. Trey McBride paced the Cardinals' offense with 126 receptions, 1,239 receiving yards, and 11 touchdown catches. Following that outing, Wilson moved ahead of Marvin Harrison Jr. — the fourth overall pick in the 2024 draft — on Arizona's depth chart. Standing 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighing 213 pounds, the wide receiver joined Arizona's roster as a third-round draft pick from Stanford in 2023. Negotiations over a contract extension between Wilson and the Cardinals had been ongoing for several months. The wide receiver and his representatives viewed the franchise's contract proposals as falling short of his on-field contributions. With that achievement, Wilson joined Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Zay Flowers as the third pass-catcher from the 2023 NFL Draft class to surpass 1,000 receiving yards in a season. He has since secured a contract extension spanning multiple years.
