Holding the position of Congress Legislature Party leader in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly, Mishra — born to long-serving Congress figure Pramod Tiwari and known for her ties to Priyanka Gandhi Vadra — occupies one of the party's key legislative roles in the state. The move to place Masood in this role reflects a broader drive to connect with a wider range of voters, among them those from Muslim communities.
